Ever since President Eisenhower’s Interstate System connected the country, the road trip has become an essential U.S. pastime. It was only natural that the American desire to explore would carry into the automobile age, and that continues with the rise of electric vehicles.
The country’s expanding public DC fast charging infrastructure has opened new possibilities for the EV road trip. GM EV drivers have access to more than 250,000 public chargers across North America. GM’s investments in Pilot Flying J, EVgo, ChargePoint and IONNA have increased public charging to more than 4,533 stalls at 844 sites in key metropolitan areas and along major highway travel corridors across the U.S.
This means charging your EV on a jaunt can offer opportunities to not only stretch your legs and get a snack, but also have some fun.
So, we decided to break out the map for some of the coolest charging spots around the country. Places where you can have an adventure within your adventure.
