Today, GM dropped a teaser for the highly anticipated, all-new Duramax 8.3L Turbo-Diesel V8 that will be the heart of the refreshed 2027 Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD.

A certain cross-town rival’s HD V8 diesel engine may be referred to as the “scorpion”. But nature, or GM in this case, always engineers a better predator – the Mongoose. Built to dominate, this diesel engine packs power, capability, and confidence. It’s found in GM’s refreshed heavy-duty pickup trucks.
