OnStar’s most festive tradition is back — and this year, we’re taking Santa on a cosmic adventure.
Starting December 17, OnStar members in a Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, or GMC vehicle can use their in-vehicle OnStar blue button or Guardian app to unlock a brand-new, seven-part audio adventure — Santa… in Space! — written by bestselling children’s author Adam Rubin.
Listeners can follow Santa and his sidekick, Reindeer 3000, on a sound-rich journey across the galaxy, with a new adventure each day, leading into the main event on Christmas: OnStar’s annual Follow Santa experience.
From countdown to takeoff
On Christmas Eve, OnStar makes spirits even brighter with real-time updates on Santa’s globe-trotting journey, continuing a beloved 17-year tradition. With a little help from the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), specially-trained OnStar Santa Flight Advisors will be ready to share Santa’s latest sleight sightings — just press the OnStar button and ask for Santa’s whereabouts.

- How to listen: From December 17–23, OnStar members can access the Santa… in Space! series exclusively by pressing the blue OnStar button inside their vehicle or through the Guardian App. Each episode drops listeners right into the heart of Santa’s interstellar mission, building anticipation and delight as Christmas Eve approaches.
- Following Santa: Beginning Christmas Eve and continuing through 5 a.m. ET on December 25, OnStar will offer live Santa tracking in partnership with NORAD. With a simple press of the blue button, families can find out exactly where Santa is and how close he might be to making his next stop.
- Every press counts: For every blue button push on Christmas Eve, OnStar donates $1 to the American Red Cross, up to $30,000.
