Five things that make the Chevy Silverado EV Trail Boss adventure-ready
2025-07-10
Chevrolet recently launched the new lifted, off-road capable 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss. Mike Kirbitz, senior development engineer for the new truck, tells GM News what makes the Trail Boss the ultimate adventure electric truck.
Range for driving and powering camp
With up to 478 miles of GM estimated range1 available on the Trail Boss and up to 10.2 kW of offboard power available, the Silverado EV gives drivers the flexibility to go the distance and power up camp at the destination.
Super Cruise with a camper
Available hands-free driver assistance Super Cruise2 can handle cross-country adventures with a camper in tow.
Impressive off-road capability
From more dynamic driving on gravel roads in Off-Road Mode, to low-speed technical driving in new, trim-exclusive Terrain mode, drive modes give drivers more confidence and control behind the wheel. Available in all drive modes, Sidewinder3 allows all four wheels to turn in the same direction and move the truck diagonally at low speeds.
Flexible storage for gear
The e-Trunk is a secure, lockable space that's perfect for carry-on luggage. A mountain bike can be strapped down in the 5’11” truck bed. And when the Multi-Flex Midgate is paired with the Multi-Flex Tailgate, transporting a kayak is easy with up to 10’10” of storage.
All the tech
From traffic updates to movie streaming, OnStar connectivity4 and advanced software in the Silverado EV keep you connected and Super Cruising stress-free. Vehicle integration with Google Maps5 shows estimated state of charge at arrival and Super Cruise-compatible routes, while OnStar provides in-vehicle Wi-Fi6 for up to seven devices. You can stream movies, play games, or browse the web when the truck is parked or charging. New apps like Angry Birds, Google Chrome, GameSnacks, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video turn the 17.7-inch diagonal center infotainment screen into a multimedia space, integrating effortlessly with your existing subscriptions.
