Revved up: Chevy Performance returns to the Hot Rod Power Tour

2025-06-03

The Hot Rod Power Tour brings together gearheads from around the country for a five-day, five-city celebration of car culture, with more than 6,000 cars and trucks on display. This year’s event kicks off on June 9 in Indianapolis, then travels to Joliet, Illinois; Fort Wayne, Indiana; Monroe, Michigan; and finally Norwalk, Ohio.

Chevy Performance returns as title sponsor of this year’s event, providing an opportunity to showcase the commitment of General Motors and Chevrolet to the performance community through our powerful engines and cutting-edge technologies. This is the 31st year of the tour, which is produced by Hot Rod magazine.

At the event, Chevy will showcase a broad lineup of classic vehicles and innovations, including a 1988 Monte Carlo with an LS376/525 Chevy performance crate engine1 and 6L80-E automatic transmission; and a 1978 Silverado 4x4 with a L8T crate engine1 and a 10L90-E transmission. Also on display will be Chevy Performance pace cars and off-road vehicles.

Chevy Performance will also showcase a range of powerful engine options, including the ZZ632 big-block crate engine* delivering up to 1,004 horsepower2. That engine will be featured alongside the 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle Laguna, making its debut at the Power Tour. The ZZ632 takes the legendary big-block engine to new heights as the biggest and most powerful crate engine in Chevy history.

Chevy is also celebrating the 70th anniversary of the small-block V8 engine, affectionately known as the “Mighty Mouse.” Originally introduced in 1955, the small-block 265 CID V-8 engine appeared in beloved Chevrolet models like the Corvette and Bel Air. For seven decades, Chevy Performance has continuously innovated the small-block engine to fit the needs of enthusiasts and do-it-yourselfers.
