For the sixth consecutive year, General Motors has been named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies® by Ethisphere, a company that helps businesses define and improve their ethical standard.

Ethisphere evaluates companies across multiple categories that support sustainable growth and can help build trust with internal and external stakeholders, business partners and regulators, including corporate governance, culture of ethics and compliance programs.

First launched in 2006, the list is intended “to measure and showcase the superior achievements of organizations that are committed to doing business with ethics and integrity.”

The review program includes a 240-point assessment, documentation review, and research into an organization’s reputation and ethical practices.

GM is the only automotive manufacturer on the list.

“Our strong business performance and this award demonstrate the power of Winning with Integrity, our GM code of conduct guiding the way we work with our fellow team members, our business partners, customers and communities,” said Michael Ortwein, GM’s assistant general counsel and chief compliance offer.
