America is celebrating its 250th birthday, and the Fairfax Assembly & Stamping Plant in Kansas City has been there for 80 of them. To celebrate these two major milestones, Fairfax went completely red, white, and blue to show their pride to everyone, even some flyer-bys.
Wall-to-wall red, white, and blue

Leading up to the July 4th holiday, the Fairfax team gathered batches of Habanero Orange, Marina Blue, and Summit White Chevy Bolts in a wall-to-wall display of red, white, and blue, before shipping them to dealerships. The entire plant was filled with these American-made1, American-hued beauties from the paint shop to the care line.
Of course there were no fireworks in the plant, but this was equally spectacular. Imagine seeing these vehicles in batches of 30 winding their way through a 4.8 million square-foot facility. There was more patriotic pride flowing through Fairfax than Uncle Sam’s hat rack.
“Seeing all these red, white, and blue Bolts going through here gave me goosebumps,” said Michael Youngs, Fairfax Plant Director. “I mean, how could you not be proud to be an American in a place like this?!”
Wave the flag

The fun didn’t stop when the Bolts drove off the line. Once they hit the yard, the team coordinated what may be the largest American flag ever made from parked EVs, complete with giant “USA” spelled out below. 331 in the flag and 29 in the USA for a total of 350 cars!
Fairfax team member Olie Olesen was one of the first people to see the finished product.
“When they asked if I could help capture an overhead picture of the cars, I instantly said yes," said Olie, who rode in a lift to capture the photos. "I knew we had something special when I saw them on the ground, but it was way more spectacular 105 feet in the air!”
Kansas City was a host city for the World Cup soccer matches, and Fairfax is in close proximity to several airports. Lucky visitors from all over the country and all over the world would have been able to see this fantastic display of American pride from the air.
Patriotism takes planning

This kind of massive project doesn’t just happen. It took the coordinated pride and effort of Fairfax’s employees. From the material department mapping out the production run to the paint shop preparing for these special builds, the Fairfax team never missed a beat. They executed this ambitious display flawlessly while continuing to build the high-quality vehicles customers expect.
What visitors flying overhead couldn't see is the profound economic footprint those same employees leave on their community. The daily work of the Fairfax team ripples far beyond the assembly line: Every single direct job at the plant supports two additional jobs across the state, strengthening local supplier networks and anchoring neighborhood small businesses.
And like a firework show, the Bolt American flag display only lasted a short time. Almost as soon as it was completed, the cars were on their way to dealerships. Hundreds of happy customers may not realize their Bolts were part of this historic endeavor. But they will definitely feel the American pride built into each one.
