Every year, Car and Driver magazine tests over 450 new cars across all vehicle segments and ranks them out of 10 stars. Every vehicle that scores at least 9 stars gets an Editors’ Choice award, and this year, of the 131 total winners, 16 vehicles from General Motors spanning a wide range of segments made the cut.
“The Editors’ Choice awards are designed to help overwhelmed car shoppers by giving them a list of the best cars on the market,” said Tony Quiroga, editor-in-chief of Car and Driver. “Every vehicle that earns an Editors’ Choice award should be a candidate for consideration.”
The complete list of GM winners is as follows:
Most of these vehicles are repeat Car and Driver Editors’ Choice winners, though the Cadillac OPTIQ and VISTIQ and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 are new additions to the list.
These 16 vehicles highlight the breadth and breadth of the GM portfolio. From affordable to luxury, and across internal-combustion and EV powertrains, GM has something for every driver.
Many of these Editors’ Choice winners also earned spots on Car and Driver’s 2026 10Best Cars and SUVs lists: the Chevrolet Trax, Corvette Stingray and E-Ray, Tahoe, Suburban, the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing, and the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL.
GM’s keen understanding of the market and what drivers want is proven out with honors like this. The company will continue to put its innovation to use with new battery chemistries like Lithium Manganese Rich (LMR), a new software-defined electrical architecture, and more advanced driver-assist features.
