GM is making a combined $275 million investment across the Spring Hill manufacturing complex, including $150 million in Spring Hill Assembly to support a future Cadillac internal-combustion product and $125 million in Spring Hill GPS to support the future of the 2.7L engine program. This announcement is bigger than one engine program or one product addition. It shows how GM is continuing to invest in Spring Hill as a flexible, long-term manufacturing complex that can support current demand, future launches and a stronger overall production footprint.
Spring Hill is receiving $275 million across both vehicle and propulsion operations, creating one clear site story about long-term confidence in the complex and the people who work there.
This year alone, GM will spend approximately $9 billion across its U.S. manufacturing footprint, along with more than $7 billion on U.S. research and development. This announcement is part of a broader commitment to strengthen domestic manufacturing and American innovation.

At Spring Hill Assembly, GM is investing more than $150 million to support a future Cadillac ICE product. Once that product is added, Spring Hill will become a five-vehicle operation — a meaningful sign of the site’s growing role in GM’s manufacturing network.
At Spring Hill Engine, the $125M investment will be used to refurbish equipment, extend the life of the 2.7L turbo engine program and support continued production of an engine that powers important Chevrolet and GMC trucks, including Colorado, Canyon, Silverado and Sierra1.
These latest announcements build on years of major investment in Spring Hill. In 2020, GM announced a $2 billion investment in Spring Hill Assembly. In 2021, GM and LG Energy Solution announced a $2.3 billion investment to build an EV battery plant in Spring Hill. And in 2025, GM announced Spring Hill would add Chevrolet Blazer production beginning in 2027 alongside Cadillac LYRIQ, LYRIQ-V, VISTIQ and next-generation XT5 production.
