Cruisin'

General Motors has rolled out Super Cruise driver assistance technology in 20 vehicles across our product portfolio. Super Cruise allows drivers to take their hands off the wheel – under proper conditions – on about 750,000 miles of roads in North America. We offer hands-free driving on more models than any other company, and by a wide margin.

Super Cruise uses cameras, radars, and high precision LiDAR maps to make drives more comfortable and less stressful. The technology is a key element of GM’s zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion strategy.

All of which is prelude to tell you about a recent event GM conducted, organizing a caravan of all 20 of our Super Cruise-equipped models early one recent weekend morning on a trip over the Bay Bridge between Oakland and San Francisco.

It was the largest caravan of its kind ever. There were large vehicles, like the GMC Hummer EV and the Chevrolet Suburban, sleek luxury models like the Cadillac Lyriq, and family-sized SUVs like Chevy Traverse. What they have in common is Super Cruise – and an epic voyage high above San Francisco Bay.
