This week GM CEO Mary Barra delivered a letter to shareholders, capping an eventful Q2 at General Motors. In her address, Barra noted strong demand for pickups and SUVs, lower warranty costs, and increased operating efficiency as indicators of a bright future.

“We expect these trends will continue to strengthen our performance into 2027 and beyond because we have multiple engines of margin expansion and growth while maintaining our capital discipline.”

Elsewhere on GM News, contributor Kristin Shaw showed us 10 spectacular off-road trails to tackle in your Chevy Silverado ZR21. The list was compiled from experts’ favorite places to go wheeling. Take a scroll down the list; we’ll bet there’s an epic trail nearby.

But if your idea of summer leans more toward “theme park” than “ORV park,” learn how GM Design helped reimagine an EPCOT icon. As Manager of Product and Mobility on the GM Industrial Design team, John McDougall collaborated with Walt Disney Imagineering to help reimagine EPCOT’s iconic TestTrack attraction.

This week’s news showed us the breadth of GM’s role as an economic, cultural, and recreational force in the country – all indicators of a bright future indeed.

Stay sunny,
