It's General Motors FTW!

Sunday is “Hollywood’s biggest night,” with the glitterati gathering in Tinseltown to hand out gold-plated statuettes for 2024’s best films and performances. But the truth is, award season has been underway for weeks now.

And GM has been collecting some noteworthy wins.

For instance, GM earned multiple model-level awards in the J.D. Power 2025 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study. All four of GM’s brands – Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, and Buick – were recognized, with 15 of 20 ranked GM models finishing in the top three in their respective segments. Buick, for instance, was the top brand in the mass market segment, with GMC fifth. That was just behind Chevrolet, which ranked fourth in the mass market segment, with four Chevy vehicles ranking first in their categories. Cadillac was second in dependability among premium brands.

“At GM, we prioritize quality in everything we do, with a goal of providing customers with the best vehicle experience over the course of their ownership years,” said Marcos Purty, VP, global quality, supplier quality and operational excellence. “Earning J.D. Power Awards for vehicle dependability reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence.”

Meanwhile, MotorTrend named the General Motors Super Cruise system the automotive industry’s best driver assistance program, as part of their first-ever “Best Tech Awards.” The publication wrote that Super Cruise “is capable, confident, and responsible, making it the driver assist system we trust to take the wheel.”

The National Defense Industrial Association gave its 2024 Red Ball Express Award, which recognizes achievement in tactical wheeled military vehicles, to GM Defense for its Infantry Squad Vehicle. Based on the ZR2 variant of the Chevrolet Colorado, the light and agile ISV can carry up to nine soldiers and their gear over complex terrain.

And for the tenth consecutive year, S&P Global Mobility recognized GM for having the Highest Overall Manufacturer Loyalty, while specifically calling out the Chevrolet Equinox for having the highest Model Loyalty in the small utility category in 2024.

The message here: when you combine reliability and leading technology, you can generate customer loyalty.

For GM, that’s the real reward.
